Went to a local show last Friday, it was a rock, mineral, bead, gemstone and
jewelry mix, always fascinating and stimulating. I only had 2 hours to
spend... sigh... and not even 2 hours worth of $$, but enjoyed it all the
same.

I did win a door prize - YAY - a rhodocrosite heart... and of course I had
to get coordinating beads. And I found a lentil shaped gemstone that
reminded me of a gentle shore... sand, waves, clouds in kind of misty aqua
and tan... so I had to get beads to match that as well.

EVENTUALLY, I'll put pics on my blog and hope to be able to start something
with them... will keep you posted. It's that full time job thing that kinda
gets in the way......

Do these spammers REALLY think anyone even clicks on their junk? What a
waste of time, cyberspace and brain power.

Sounds fun, Karleen! I went to the Intergalactic show last weekend, but
didn't have anything in mind that I wanted, so I just looked around a lot
and bought a few seed beads. I could have bought a ton of stuff I liked,
just for future projects, but isn't that always the way.

I was looking for a turquoise cab to go with some I bought at a rock and
mineral show in Dec., but the only person that had cabs had really expensive
ones. I bought some in Dec. to make a bracelet, and wouldn't you know, I
really need one more. I may have to wait until Dec. to get to the next
show! Darn!

Actually I'm glad you mention expensive cabs Jerri. Does anyone know a
good inexpensive source for cabs of all shapes and sizes? I'm trying to
hoard a collection to use in bead embroidery, not that I have a purpose
for them right now, but a good bookmarked site would be awesome.

Oh fun! Congrats on winning a door prize!

The local bead show this year was a little smaller, but quite fun...I
think the cost of travel was too much for a lot of American sellers.

In regards to the spammers...well, all it takes is one dumb person to
make it worth their while :S I wish their was a way to filter them out
on Google Groups.

Best,
Christine
