What do you do when you get a bead that's humongous? Let's see.
Maybe use it as a pendant on a long necklace so you can use it as a
weapon in an emergency. Use it as a fan pull as long as it's not a
head-klunking level. Hey, use it as a purse charm for a carriage bag
(one of those huge purses). I wonder if I have enough that I could
have un-matching drawer-pulls. I should check out what bolts might
work.

Most of the ones I've gotten have never been used.

What about the rest of you?

Tina, how big is humongous? and how heavy (which is likely to make
a difference to me because I also use hollow kukui nuts which are
big but very light weight.), and what material? Shape?

I hope it isn't as big as a pumpkin, because I wouldn't now what to do
with a bead that size either.

It's the glass ones I have the biggest problem with, partly because of
the weight. But even lighter things are something of a problem for
me. I don't like long necklaces, so I'm not inclined to make them.
They take a lot more thought for me and I just don't attain that
comfort level.

I prefer to keep to under 15 or 20mm. I really need to broaden my
horizons.

My LBS is now selling pins for large and large-hole beads. They're like
heavy-duty headpins and eyepins. Of course, now I'm wondering what I
did with the ones I bought a few weeks ago.

Cheers,
Carla

You know, I have a couple changeable pendants, but I've never used
them. I like having the other goodies on my necklace, and I don't
want to have to think about changing things when I want a necklace to
match.

I end up giving them away. :P Seriously, I just did that to a big bead
of mine (artisan). It sat for years and I couldn't figure out what to do
with it, so I ended up finding it a new home. And I've been told it may
be turned into part of some home decor.

That might be what I do with these too. But these beads are my
friends, and I hate to give up on them!

Those biggun's can probably be used as fan/lamp pulls nicely. They would
probably hold up really well.
